A Very Fine Red

Deep Field x Italian Storm

A Very Fine Red, physically she had us from the moment she walked out of the box. Gorgeous, quality mare, with a great action, huge hip to tail, beautiful big deep girth. Tick, she had the looks. She was also a winner on debut at 2, she ran 4th in the Percy Sykes. A further 5 stakes placings and a Listed win. She was a tough, fast, good looking race mare and we just had to have her. We can’t wait to offer her progeny at the yearling sales. -Rob Petith

Winner of the Listed Alinghi Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield defeating Stakes winner Mileva and Lempicka, A Very Fine Red is a three-time Stakes placegetter as a three-year-old, including when she ran second by 0.5 length to Flying Evelyn in the Group 3 Red Roses Stakes at Flemington whilst beating Seradess. She also ran second to Zapateo in the Listed Denise Joy Stakes at Scone with Group winners I Am Me and Comrade Rose in arrears and third to subsequent Group 1 winner Mazu in the Listed Fireball where she defeated Zapateo, Profiteer and Dragonstone.

“By the beautifully bred Deep Field, a son of “Blue-Hen” Listen Here, there is no reason to suggest his daughters will not make the grade as broodmares.” – Brett Howard
